Monteverde
Monteverde’s Cloud Forest has been studied for over 25 years by both visiting and Costa Rican biologists. Many biologists now call Monteverde home and have worked diligently to build a system of private reserves unique to Central America. At the same time, Monteverde has attracted tourists and locals looking for job opportunities. This widens research opportunities and acquaints the students with practical biological problems associated with agricultural development, eco-tourism, and grassroots conservation efforts in developing countries.
