La Carolina Lodge, Guanacaste, Costa Rica

La Carolina Lodge is a rustic guesthouse on the eastern slopes of Volcano Tenorio. The lodge sits on 170 acres, nestled in rainforest and fed by a freshwater river. We have a warm, friendly, Costa Rican staff and excellent home-cooked meals. The lodge is also a full-time cattle ranch and farm.
The lodge overlooks a fresh water river and lush tropical forest. For sunbathing and swimming there is a wooden deck built over a natural, crescent pool fed by a river. A deep shaded porch, with rocking chairs and hammocks, wraps around the lodge—a quiet place to cool off, nap, read and relax while watching the river flow. The lodge sleeps 12 guests comfortably, with two bathrooms and piping hot showers.
There are four bedrooms: 3 private, double rooms, 1 large room with 7 single beds, perfect for groups or families.
