The Mono Congo Lodge is perhaps the most charming tree house you will ever know.
Recently modernized, our rooms have air conditionig, ceiling fan, Internet and Telephone access, TV and DVD. All of our rooms portray a rustic Balinese style, however, with orthopedic mattresses, Indian-cotton sheets and feather pillows; it hardly resembles anything other than palatial.
Of our five rooms, the master and junior suite, with vaulted ceilings, are situated on the third floor, the master suite with a queen size bed, wrap-around porch and very spacious, our junior suite has two double beds, private porch and a private bath (apart from room).
Our three spacious, double occupancy, second floor dwellings, provides two European style shared-bathrooms, and guests have private basin and vanity in each of their dwellings. With the relaxing ambience of the wrap-around porches, hammocks, and comfortable lounging areas. An observation deck, situated on the peak of the structure, also crowns it. Some 65 feet above the forest floor, it surpasses the canopy of the forest, and whether at sunset or sunrise, its 360 degree view is astonishing, not to mention its unhindered stargazing.
Seaward, the property borders on an estuary/mangrove and is endowed with many exotic species of flora and fauna. Naturalists might enjoy meandering through the property for several hours appreciating the plant life and the many species of diurnal and nocturnal wildlife including; roseate spoonbills, frigate birds, humming birds, kingfishers, orioles, great blue herons, eagles, hawks, howler monkeys, ant-eaters, armadillos, porcupines, iguanas, geckos and crocodiles.
