Hotel El Cafetal Inn, Alajuela, Costa Rica

The hotel is a spectacular two story house with rounded, glass corner alcoves overlooking sugar fields with views of the cities of Alajuela and part of Heredia, as well as the three volcanoes: Poás, Barva and Irazú. The travel guide book "Costa Rica Natural Destinations" says the hotel has "More private sitting areas to just be than rooms!"
Just sit in one of the hotel´s many outdoor patios or lookout spots overlooking Costa Rica´s peaceful Central Valley with splendid mountain vistas, the green river canyon and the rich coffee plantation. Anywhere you sit you´ll be enchanted by this tranquil tropical setting and the soothing sounds of Costa Rican nature.
Sometimes you´ll see a group of birds, or hear the jungle call of seasonal howler monkeys who feed in the trees right outside the hotel. You can see them from your windows and, when you´re still, you can hear the gentle sound of one of Costa Rica´s delightful rivers.
