High on a hill, these rooms are a little pricey, but can't be beat for spectacular views of distant Sámara Bay and nearby Carrillo Beach. Rooms are spacious and sunny, with carvings of fish adorning the wooden headboards.
Huge blue-tiled bathrooms have solar-heated hot water. Breakfast is served poolside in an open rancho facing the view. Surrounded by secondary forest, the garden has flowers that lure hummingbirds and butterflies.

A tropical refuge within the National Marine Park, Las Baulas de Guanacaste.
Directly in front of the hotel is the beach, a magnificent 4 kilometers of golden sand. Playa Grande is the most important nesting site in the Pacific for the giant leatherback turtle, known in Costa Rica as the tortuga baula. |
